Marian (Cashman) Georgen 1917-1985
Funeral srevices were held on Monday, September 9, 1985, for Mrs. Lawrence (Marian) Goergen, 68, of Osage, a returned school teacher and Osage resident, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage. The Rev. Leon Connolly officiated and burial was in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
Marian Goergen died on Friday, September 6, 1985 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.
She was born on May 20, 1917, at Elma, Iowa, the daughter of Clement and Elizabeth (Sullivan) Cashman. She attended schools at Elma and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids and was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls.
On August 28, 1948, she and Lawrence Goergen were married in Elma. The couple lived in Adams, Minnesota. In 1954, they moved to Osage. In 1979, Mrs. Goergen retired from teaching, having taught in schools in Elma, Riceville, Minneapolis, and Osage.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Louis.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence of Osage; one daughter, Mrs. Kirk (Mary) Dau of Ames; three sons, Pat of Tuckasegee, N.C.; Terry of Vienna, Virginia, and Bill of Florence, Kentucky; two sisters, Sister Mary Clementine Cashman of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Marvin (Betty) Hockinson of Albert Lea, Minnesota; and six grandchildren.
