Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 30, 1985, at Champion Funeral Home for Bessie Clark, 89, a retired school teacher, who died Wednesday, March 27, 1985 at Faith Home. The Rev. James S. Pittman of the United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in the Orchard Cemetery.

She was born on June 11, 1895, in Lincoln Township, Mitchell County. She attended rural school and Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. Miss Clark taught school for 43 years in Allison, Hampton, Waverly and Osage, and retired in 1960.

She is survived by nieces and nephews.
