WINTERTON, Helen (Knight) 1913-1985

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 6, 1985, at Champion Funeral Home for Mrs. Helen (Knight) Winterton, 72, of Osage. She died on Saturday, August 3, 1985, at an Osage nursing home. The Rev. S. Brightwell officiated, and burial was in the Brownville cemetery.

Mrs. Winterton was born on June 18, 1913, in Mitchell county, Iowa, to Hubert and Mabel (Radar) Knight. She attended rural schools in the Brownville area of Mitchell county. She was a former employee of the Cedar Valley Produce Co. of Osage, and also the Osage Hotel.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. John (Nancy) Pickar of Osage; two sons, John Hagen of Waterloo, and LeRoy Winterton of Vista, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Wanda Thompson of Osage and Mrs. Ray (Huberta) Marrell [should be Marreel**] of Charles City; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
