Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 20, 1985, at the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toeterville for Alice Ehlke, who died on Saturday, August 17, 1985, in St. Ansgar. Rev. Charles Bunk officiated at the service with burial in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery in Toeterville.
Alice Louise Emma Ehlke was born to Henry and Emelia** (Steinberg) Schultz on January 30, 1911 in Rock Township, Mitchell county. She was baptized in her parent's home on February 1, 1911 by Rev. G. Bischoff. She was confirmed on March 28, 1926 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar by Rev. Paul Brammer.
During her school years she lived on an acreage in the Northwest corner of St. Ansgar. She graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1927 and lived with her parents on a farm one mile north of Toeterville and then on a farm one mile south of St. Ansgar.
She was united in marriage to John Ehlke*** on May 22, 1943. The couple made their home on John's family farm one mile north and three miles east of Toeterville. In 1979 she and John moved to St. Ansgar.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Edwin and Alwin, and one sister, Mrs. Everett Steward.
Survivors include her husband, John; one daughter, Sheryl; her sister, Esther Ehlke of St. Ansgar, and her aunt, Selma Steinberg of St. Ansgar.
