C. Harry Steine, 73, of Decorah, Iowa, died on March 4, 1985 after a lengthy illness. He had been living at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home.

Funeral services for Steine were held on March 7, at 1:30 p.m., at the First Lutheran Church, with Rev. Paul Christenson presiding. Burial was at the Lutheran Cemetery [in Decorah].

Steine was born on March 6, 1911 in Decorah, to Ole and Mabel (Peterson) Steine. In 1939 he graduated fromt he College of Mortuary Science in St. Louis, Missouri. He worked as a funeral director in Decorah for many years, up to his retirement.

For many years Steine was a member of the Lions Club and also the Firtst Lutheran Church in Decorah.

He married Alice Lubke on June 25, 1937 in Galeway, Illinois.

He is survived by his wife and two children, Carol (Mrs. David Fritz) of Decorah and Dr. Mark Steine, of Osage.
