HOLD RITES WEDNESDAY FOR MRS. FRANK KELLEY
OSAGE, IOWA – Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Kelley, 68, was to be held at the Shelleday Funeral Home Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., the Rev. Glen Hartong officiating. Burial was to be in the Osage Cemetery.
Ellen Sophia Bohl was born in Grant County, Wisconsin, April 30, 1876. When a small girl, the family moved to Floyd and later, Elma, where she attended school. Later she came to Osage where she married Frank Kelley in March 1898. Their entire married life was spent in Osage.
Mr. Kelley died June 5, 1942.
Surviving are two sons, Maurice, who is now in Bermuda in the employ of the government, and Pvt. Merrill, who just left the west coast for overseas duty. Also surviving are a brother, Sherman Bohl, of Osage, and a sister Mrs. A. J. Duffey, at San Ray Field, California.

DIES HERE AFTER
LINGERING ILLNESSMrs. B. Frank Kelly, 69, passed away at her home on East Main Street at 2:30 o'clock, Tuesday morning, after a lingering illness that had extended over the past seven months. She had been in poor health for several years, in fact, had never recovered from the shock of her husband's death in 1942.
Ellen Sophia Bohl was born in Grant County, Wisconsin, April 30, 1876, and died February 27, 1945. When a young girl she came with her family to Iowa where, after living at several different places and finally settled at Elma.
Her marriage to Mr. Kelley took place at Elma march 8, 1897. They came to Osage to establish their home and she had lived here since. To this union were born two sons, Maurice, now in government construction work in Bermuda, and Pfc. Merrill, now in the armed forces in the Pacific theatre of war.
Besides her sons she is survived by a brother and sister, Sherman Bohl, of Osage, and Mrs. A. J. Duffy of San Rafael, California, also three grandchildren, Kay, Merrill Franklin and Margery Ellen Kelley.
Mrs. Kelley was a patient sufferer, thinking of the needs of others, to the neglect of her own. During the years she had affiliation with the Royal Neighbor Lodge and had worked for the temperance cause in the W. C. T. Y. She was a faithful member of the Methodist church.
Her heart was gladdened during recent weeks by the visit of both of her sons, who were able to be with her for several days. Family and friends will miss the passing of a beloved mother and devoted neighbor.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Thursday, at the Shelledy Funeral Home, in charge of the Rev. Glen Hartang. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Ellen Sophia Bohl was the daughter of Jacob Bohl and Barbara Ellen (Fye) Bohl. She married Benjamin Frank Kelley, the son of John Kelley and Caroline (Andrews) Kelley.
