MITCHELL COUNTY FARMER SUCCUMBS

Osage – Elmo William Vining, 80, Mitchell County farmer, died at the home of his only son, Walter, near Osage at 10:30 p.m., Sunday, following a heart attack. The rosary was to be said Monday at 8 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church with burial in the Osage Cemetery.

Connecticut born, Mr. Vining came to a farm near Osage as a small boy with his parents, Beilie and Lucretia Vining.

The only survivors are the son and 3 grandchildren. His wife died in 1942.

Elmo William Vining was born November 7, 1871. He married Jennie Courtney. They are buried in the Osage City Cemetery, Osage, Mitchell, Iowa
