JOHN SALZ, 67, DIES; FUNERAL AT OSAGE CHURCH

OSAGE, IOWA – Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church here for John Salz, 67.

He died at midnight Saturday at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital where he had been hospitalized for the past eight weeks with a heart condition.

Mr. Salz was born at Leonore, Illinois on January 26, 1890, to John and Elizabeth Salz. In 1908 he accompanied his family to a farm near Little Cedar. He was married to Anna Wiesbrock in 1918. They lived on a farm near Stacyville, retiring to Osage in 1947.

Survivors include five daughters; Mrs. Glen (Marie) Walsh, Osage; Mrs. Woodrow (Frances) Kratoska, Waterloo; Mrs. Arthur (Germaine) Albrecht, Spring Valley, Minn.; Mrs. Omar (Joan) Toye; and Miss Veronica Salz, both of Osage; four sons; Al, Mason City; Norbert, Cedar Rapids; Art, Manly; and John Peter, Tucson, Ariz; 21 grandchildren; two brothers and nine sisters.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.
