OBITUARY-GILCHRIST

Catherine C. George was born in Sandusky county Ohio, October 13, 1840. In early childhood she moved with her parents to Racine county, Wisconsin.

On July 7th, 1856 she was united in marriage to D. F. Gilchrist. In the spring of 1887 Mr. and Mrs. Gilchrist came west and settled in Burr Oak county, Iowa, where they lived until they moved to Osage thirty years ago.

To this union there were born six children: William of Burr Oak township, Harriet Isabel, Seattle, Washington; Stella Coonradt of Osage; Clara Ingram; Joseph and Roy each of Bakersfield, California.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. H.W. Jones, of Seattle, Wash. In early womanhood she united with the Methodist Episcopal church of which she was a member of the local W.R.C. She passed away May 1, 1914. She leaves a husband, six children, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchldren, one sister and many friends to mourn her loss.

The funeral service was held from the late residence Sunday May 3 at 2 p.m. Rev. Frank W. Court officiating.
