Annie Burroughs Govier, first daughter of John and Lucinda Govier, was born May 4, 1869, in Rockford, Iowa, and departed this life July 31, 1919,at 3:14 p.m. at the Wood's hosptial of this city.
When four years of age, her parents moved to Mitchell county, where she lived until her marriage to C. H. Fehr, in 1894, the Rev. S. E. Wilcox, at the time pastor of the Baptist church of Osage, officiating.
To this union, two children were born -- Lola Mildred and Ruby Irene -- who, with the husband and father, are bereft of a loving and faithful wife and mother.
She also leaves to mourn her loss, two brothers, two sisters, and one half sister, wiz: Charles P., of Osage; William H., of Stewartville, Minn.; Mrs Jennie Casey of Kingston, Ill.; Mrs. Lillian Welch, of Osage and Mrs. Mary Emma Funcher of Bridgesport, Conn.
In the year 1892, the subject of this sketch, united with the Baptist church and lived an exemplary Christian life; a kind neighbor, always more thoughtful of others than herself, and ministering to others as long as her strength premittted, and the many acts of kindness, helpfulness and cheer, which this life eminated in our community will live on and on in the memories and characters of her family, friends and associates.
Funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church by the pastor, Rev. A. S. Cross. Interments was made in the local cemetery.
