SELDER
Christian Selders was born in Bremen, Germany,
September 1, 1828. At the age of eighteen he came to New York City, where he made his home for ten years. In April, 1853, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Lang and soon removed to Michigan where they lived for serveral years. Iowa has been the family home since 1874, with the exception of a year spent in South Dakota. He has been a good citizen of Osage for the past ten years.Four children blessed the home, two of whom survive, Mrs. Julia Haner of Mitchell, S. D., and P. H. Selder, a resident of this city.
Mr. Selder was an enterprising citizen and led a busy life until incapacitated by the illness something over a year ago, since which time his every want has been most faithfully looked after by the devoted wife and dutiful son who with his family moved to Osage some two or three years ago, to be with the parents who were well along in life at that time. The daughter, Mrs. Haner came from Dakota about a month ago and since then has been a constant attendant at his beside until his death.
The bereaved family have the sympathy of their many friends and old neighbors of this vicinity.
The funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon, conducted by the pastor of the
