MANLY, IOWA - Delores (Buttolph) Hennigar 84, of 133 Friendship Lane, died Thursday, July 14, 2011, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
A service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2011, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd Street N.E. Mason City; with Edward Patton, Ministry Servant of Jehovah Witness. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Riceville Cemetery, Riceville.
The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel.
Delores Buttolph was born August 28, 1926, in Riceville, the daughter of Clifton and Irene (Hawkins) Buttolph. She graduated from Riceville High School in 1944. After high school she worked various jobs. Delores was united in marriage to Donald L. Hennigar. To this union nine children were born. Delores worked for several years at Winnebago Industries. In her later years she went to cosmetology school and enjoyed doing hair.
Delores loved traveling. She was a world traveler and would often be found near the ocean, beach or cruising around in her convertible. She enjoyed tending to her flowerbeds, reading, crocheting, cooking, dancing, roller skating and bowling. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a great caregiver not just to her family but to many including her special friends from Friendship Village.
Delores is survived by her children, Cheryl (Arden) Thompson, Greensboro, N.C., Jackie (Denis) Foss, Manly, Jan (Donald) Nissen, Hanlontown, Dale (Carol) Hennigar, Manly, Candy DeWitt, Greensboro, N.C., Tim (Brenda) Hennigar, Fertile, Mike (Denise) Hennigar, Farmington, Minnesota, Scott (Denise) Hennigar, Kensett, Dolly (Dave) Feldt, Kensett; grandchildren Tami (Jay) Vogel, Teri (Bret) Cunningham, Jason (Teri) Foss, Delora Brattrud, Bobbi Nissen, Alexis (Kenny) Kunz, Dalsy (Devin) Lorentzen, Brett, Brooke, and Brandon DeWitt, Brittany (Matt) Bruner, Amanda Hennigar, Dustin Hennigar, Cody (Nicole) Hennigar, Jessica Beauchaine, Jace Beauchaine; great-grandchildren Ryland and Jillian Gentz, Jordan and Piper Cunningham, Brianna, Ashlyn, Grady Foss, Emeny and Lydia Brattrud, Chloe Hennigar, Caden, Brody, Adaline, and Layne Beauchaine; sister Kathryn (Ray) Knapp, Iowa Falls and brother Kenneth (Darlene) Buttolph, Anchorage, Alaska; brother-in-law Snap Wagoner, Waterloo; along with numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Delores is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Dorothy Wagoner and Betty Koch, brothers Lloyd and Dale Buttolph and son-in-law Robert DeWitt.
