Elvira Jenks Bundy was born December 3, 1817, in Otsego County, New York, and died in Osage, Iowa, November 17, 1906. She received a liberal education in teaching. At the age of twenty-three she was united in marriage to Delos Bundy of Otsego, New York. In 1855, she with her husband and family removed to Rio, Columbia County, Wisconsin, where they resided until about 1878, when they removed to St. Ansgar, Iowa, where they resided until the death of her husband in August, 1885. She has since resided with her children and with her son, A. D. Bundy of Osage, since 1898.
She had a cultivated mind and kept abreast with current events as long as her eyesight permitted. In her young life she united with the Uniterians and later was a member of the Congregational church at Waverly, Iowa.
She is survived by her two sons, D. R. Bundy of Ironwood, Michigan, and Dr. Bundy of Osage. Two daughters and two sons have already preceded her to the great beyond.
A loving and faithful wife, a tender and affectionate mother both her sorrowing sons can testify. She endured the infirmities of advanced age with patience. She leaves many friends who prized her friendship and companionship highly. The interment took place in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
