NICHOLS FUNERAL HELD IN OSAGE
PIONEER BUSINESSMAN OF MITCHELL COUNTY DIES IN HOME

Osage, May 6 – Funeral services were held today for W. O. Nichols, 79, who died Friday evening at 7 o’clock at the home of his son, W. W. Nichols. The funeral was held at the Champion Funeral Home with the Rev. John D. Kern of the Baptist church in charge, and burial was in the local cemetery beside his wife who died seven years ago.
Surviving are two children, W. W. Nichols and Mrs. Howard Andrews, both of Osage. Mr. Nichols had lived in Osage since 1900 and for many years was in the feed, grain and coal business.

According to the 1900 Census, William was born May 1852 in Ohio. He married Jeanette Hewitt (her name from sons 1925 Iowa Census).
