RICEVILLE, IOWA - Robert "Willie" Wilcox, 71, of Riceville, died Thursday (June 16, 2011) at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at the Conway Funeral Home in Riceville, with burial in St. Peters Cemetery south of Riceville. The Rev. Michael Parris will officiate.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday at the Conway Funeral Home in Riceville and will continue one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
Robert Edward "Willie" Wilcox was born on Sept. 23, 1939, at McIntire, the son of Carl and Marie (Reich) Wilcox. He was a trucker and worked for over 20 years for Warren Transport out of Waterloo. The last few years, he worked for McNeilus at Riceville before he retired. Robert was united in marriage to Loma Bakkum in 1958 in South Dakota. They were later divorced and he married Lillian Fox in 1971 in South Dakota.
He is survived by one daughter, Julie (Gary) Lucas of Mason City; three step-children, Sharon (Larry) Lovelace of Riceville, Connie Fox in Wis., and Nancy (Russell) Wolthoff of Riceville; six grandchildren; thirteen step-grandchildren; one great-grandson; four brothers, Russell of Stewartville, Minn., Dale (Tammy) of Ventura, Leon (Robin) of Brownsdale, Minn., and Tommy (Lisa) of LeRoy, Minn.; three sisters, June (Sam Seifert) Gansen of Mason City, Linda (Tom) Walker of Lake City, Minn., and Janet (Gerald) Haagenson of Mable, Minn.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his second wife, Lillian; one son, William; one daughter, Laurene Wilcox; a step-daughter, Debra Gansen; one brother, George Wilcox, and an infant sister.
