FRANK JAMES RUNKLE DIES AT LITTLE CEDAR

Osage – Funeral services will be held for Frank James Runkle, 71, Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Little Cedar Methodist Church. He died suddenly Thursday from a heart attack.

He was born March 26, 1973, at McConnell, Illinois. At the age of 21 he came to Mitchell County and in 1900 was married to May Pingry near Riceville. The couple lived for 38 years in the Riceville and Little Cedar territories and for one year in Charles City.

They reared 2 sons, Harold and George, now in Waterloo, as well as their only grandchild, Robert, now a pharmacist mate in the navy on an island near Hawaii.

Also surviving are 2 sisters, Mrs. John Cross and Lulu Runkle Davidson, both of Freeport, Illinois; 3 brothers, George, William and Manuel.

Interment will be in the Little Cedar Cemetery.
