RITES TUESDAY FOR MRS. GUY WATTS AT WATERLOOMrs. Guy Watts of Waterloo, formerly of La Porte City and vicinity, died at Allen Memorial hospital Friday evening at 9:30 o'clock. Death was due to a heart attack following an operation for gall bladder trouble a week previous. She had been in ill health for several months.
As Elizabeth Kathryn Kempf, she was born June 1, 1885, to Adam and Dora (Mengel) Kempf on a farm near Mooreville in Benton County, Iowa, and lived the early years of her life in Bruce Township.
She was married to Guy Watts of this vicinity in Vinton, on November 30, 1904. They armed for a time in Bruce township and later moved to La Porte City where they lived until going to Waterloo to reside in 1922.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Lane Anderson and Mrs. H. J. Arend of Waterloo and Mrs. K. V. Burnham of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three sisters, Miss Kathryn Kempf and Mrs. Lillian Anderlik, Riceville; and Mrs. Anna Bloss, Osage; one brother, George Kempf, Riceville, and six grandchildren.
Her parents preceded her in death.Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Kearns Garden Chapel and burial was made in a Waterloo Cemetery.

ELIZABETH KATHRYN WATTSFuneral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Kathryn Watts, of 1823 Hawthorne Avenue, who died Friday, will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Kearns Garden chapel by Rev. Gilbert S. Cox, pastor of First Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Elmwood CemeteryWaterloo Courier, Monday April 5, 1948
