FORMER RICEVILLE MAN DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Riceville – A former Riceville resident, Earl H. Bemus, 60, Wilmington, California, died November 1, in a Long Beach, California hospital.

Son of Myron and Carrie Bemus, he was born May 25, 1902, at Dysart. On June 25, 1925, he was married to Violet Crum and moved to West Union. They were parents of two sons who died at birth.

They moved to California in 1928 where he was an electrician almost 30 years for Union Oil and the Newberry Electric Company.

Survivors include his widow and his brother, Howard Bemus, Waterloo.
