CLARK WILKES, 73, DIES IN CALIFORNIA

Riceville – Clark Wilkes, 73, former Riceville resident, died Monday at his home in Redwood City, California. Services were held in Redwood City.

Wilkes was better known as “Kid Vinton”, during his wrestling career when he was middleweight champion of Iowa and Illinois for three consecutive years. He was the son of Charles and Nellie Wilkes, Riceville.

He is survived by three brothers, Ralph, Riceville; Leonard, Waterloo; and Edwin, Alexandria, Minn.
