OTTO RIES, 78, RITES SATURDAY
RETIRED PLYMOUTH FARMER SUCCUMBSOtto Ries, 78, retired Plymouth farmer died at a local hospital about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday after a lingering illness.
The body will be at the Meyer Funeral home until 3 p.m. Friday when it will be taken to the home of Mrs. Ries’ daughter, Mrs. Perry Crooks, Plymouth. A rosary will be said there at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Leo Derga officiating. Burial will be in St. Ansgar Cemetery. The family requests that no flowers be sent.Mr. Ries was born December 15, 1866 at Huckleheim, Germany, and came to this country at the age of 11. He settled in Illinois and moved to Cerra Gordo County in 1911, where he farmed until 1941 when he retired.
He was married October 15, 1889 to Clara Rediger at Lacon, Illinois.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Perry Crooks, Plymouth; 4 sons; Ernest and Delbert, both of 9Mason City; Vernon of Kasson, Minn; and Adrian, Rockwell; 28 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Mr. Rice was preceded in death by his wife, Clara, in 1941 and also by 4 daughters and 2 brothers.

OTTO RIES FUNERAL SERVICE AT MANLY
Funeral services for Otto Ries, 78, who died at a local hospital Wednesday evening after a lingering illness, were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manly, at 9 a.m., Saturday with the Rev. Leo Perga officiating.
Burial was in St. Ansgar Cemetery.Pallbearers were Harold Steinberg, St. Ansgar; Louis Glassel, Linus Cummings, and Morris Cummings, all of Grafton; Laurence Glassel, Plymouth and William Beyer, Mitchell.
