GRAVESIDE SERVICES AT RICEVILLE FOR FORMER RESIDENT

Riceville – The body of Mrs. Fred Shaw, Ladysmith, Wisconsin, former Riceville resident, was brought to Riverside Cemetery in Riceville for graveside rites Thursday. The Shaw family formerly lived northeast of Riceville.

Jennie's parents were Moses Sweat (1829-1911) and Orvilla Pruda Thorpe (1841-1905) Hadley. She married first, Fred Shaw on November 14, 1897 in Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa. They were the parents of 9 children; Edna Carolyn, Mabel Gertrude, Alice Mae, Roy Hadley, Fred Raymond, Lawrence Lloyd, Ada Melissa, Marie Maxine and Dwight Leslie. After the death of Floyd, she married Harry Crandell on June 12, 1940 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin.
