Matt Loecher was born in Germany on June 2, 1866, and died at Austin, Minnesota, on Tuesday, July 24, 1945, at the age of 79 years.

He came to America as a young man and engaged in farming. He was married to Mary Weber on June 2, 1896. They lived in the Stacyville community for fifty years.

Mr. Loecher operated his farm west of Stacyville for many years, selling to his son, Gregor, a few years ago.

Surviving are six children: Art, of McIntire, Mr. Ernie Theobald and Paul of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Alyos and Gregor and Mrs. Ernest Mayer of Stacyville; two brothers, Martin and Joe Loecher of Adams, Minnesota; and four sisters, Mrs. Lena Heimer, Mrs. Elizabeth Heimer, Mrs. Mary Webber and Mrs. Sue Kasel of Adams.

Funeral services were held Friday morning, July 27. Burial was in the church cemetery in Stacyville.
