Dr. Vosburgh Dies
in CaliforniaOSAGE, IOWA — Word has reached Osage of the death of a former resident, Dr. Max Vosburgh, 52, at Berkeley, California. His mother died last month. He suffered a series of strokes following the death of his mother. He had retired some years ago due to poor Health.
His only survivors include his wife and one brother, Dr. Harold Vosburgh, also of California.

Max was the son of Martin H. and Myrta (Davis) Vosburgh. They moved to Osage from Austin, Minnesota in 1910. Max graduated from Osage High School in 1924. Dr. Vosburgh graduated in June 1928 from the College of Osteopathy in Kirksville, Missouri and moved to Lindsay, California where he was associated with Dr. Lewis Bruce, an osteopathic doctor.

OSAGE, IOWA, Sept. 6, 1928 — Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Vosburgh and son, Dr. Max Vosburgh expect to leave Friday for Lindsay, Calif., where Dr. Vosburgh will be associated with Dr. Lewis Bruce, an osteopathic doctor.
Dr. Vosburgh graduated in June from the College of Osteopathy in Kirksville, Missouri. The Vosburghs will drive thru in their car.

[The following is an edited part of his parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary news story. The entire article is posted in the Mitchell/marriage announcements section.]
Mr. and Mrs. M.H. Vosburgh observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary at their home here.
Martin Vosburgh of Columbus, Wisconsin, and Mertie Davis of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, were married on May 3, 1887, at Beaver Dam. They lived a year at Columbus, Wisconsin, two years at Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, and then moved to Charles City where they spent ten years. Then they moved back to Wisconsin for several years and then settled in Austin, Minnesota, until they moved here in 1910 where they have made their home since.
Mr. Vosburgh has been a photographer for 54 years. Both children, Max of Osage and Dr. Harold Vosburgh of Visalia, California, and his daughter, Betty, observed the anniversary with them.
They have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
