RITES MONDAY FOR AMANDA HARLIS

Charles City – Mrs. Amanda Harlis, 76, died Thursday at the home of Mrs. E. J. Babbit. Funeral services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Grossman-Hage Funeral Home with burial in the Charles City cemetery.

The former Amanda Christiansen of Osage, she is survived by a sister.

Amanda Christiansen was born December 1884 (1900 Census), the daughter of Christian Anton Christiansen and Elizabeth (Nielsen) Christiansen. The family made their home in Mason City until 1897, when they came to Osage. Her father died in 1927 and her mother died in 1944, both buried at Osage Cemetery.

Amanda married John W. Harlis, the son of Magnus Harlis and Bengta (Munson) Harlis. She was preceded in death by her husband and son John Clifton Harlis.
