JOHN SCHACK FUNERAL SET FOR TUESDAY
John Schack, 76, retired engineer for the Northwestern States Portland Cement Co., died Saturday evening in a Mason City hospital. He had lived in Mason City 52 years and made his home at 1524 Washington N.W.
Mr. Schack was born December 20, 1886 in Austria. He came to Mason City from Pennsylvania in 1911 and had lived here since that time.
He was married to Mabel Wilson, January 10, 1931 at Northwood.
Surviving are his wife, son, John Schack Jr., Olympia, Wash.; daughter, Mary Fronk, Vancouver, Wash.; three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Three brothers, Louis and Joseph Mirakovits, North Hampton, Pennsylvania, and Frank Mirakovits, in Austria, and a sister, Mary Trink, Chicago, also survive.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Major Memorial Chapel. Dr. George Truman Carl, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.
