RICEVILLE, IOWA - Geraldine Fox, 93, of Riceville passed away at the Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center on Monday, May 2, 2011.

Funeral services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Riceville on Friday, May 6, at 10:30 a.m. with Monsignor John Hemann officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Riceville. Friends may call on Thursday, May 5, at the Lindstrom Funeral Home during the hours of 4-7 p.m. There will be a rosary at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Geraldine Fox was born on February 14, 1918, on a farm near New Haven to Herman and Winnie (Toelle) Jahnel. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1936. She lived her entire life in the New Haven and Riceville area.

She was united in marriage to Ralph Fox on December 27, 1943, in New Haven, Iowa, and to this union seven children were born.

Geraldine is survived by her children: Carol (Steve) Jennison of Littleton, Colo.; Mike (Marjorie) Fox of Riceville; Gary (Arlene) Fox of Rochester, Minn.; Jane (Tracy) Messer of Chanhassen, Minn.; Susan (Shawn) Yavari of Oak Park, Calif.; Sara (Terry) Byrnes of Riceville; and 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Ralph, in 1998; her son, Jack, in 1995; and two brothers, Bob and Jim Jahnel.
