WAS PROMINENT CATTLE MAN
HERE - MOVED TO NEBRASKA

"Jerry" Sheehan, one of the most prominent of the Osagers of twenty five years ago, passed away at his home in Emmerson, Nebraska on April 24th. The body was brought to Osage Tuesday and buried in the Osage Cemetery. Mr. Sheehan had been confined to his bed since Christmas, suffering with chronic heart trouble.

On Wednesday and Thursday of last week he seemed better, but Saturday morning when relatives went to his room they found he had passed peacefully away in the night. He was 70 years and 10 days of age.

Mr. Sheehan owned what is now the Ed Ruge farm, and build the residence on that place. He and his wife had a family of fourteen children, an unusually large and an unusually fine family of children. He was one of the foremost cattlemen of this vicinity, and was for a time county treasure. About fifteen years ago he moved to Emmerson, Nebraska, and has since resided there on a large farm operated by his sons for several years.

Mr. Sheehan is survived by his wife and the following children: Anna, who is married and living in California; Dan, Earl, Ray, John and Jim, all of Emmerson, Nebraska; Minnie, wife of John Lund, St. Ansgar; Edna, at home with her mother; Mrs. Gertrude Hovelson, of St. Ansgar; and Bernard, of Sioux City. Four children preceded him in death.

The remains were accompanied here by Mrs. Sheehan, Dan and John, Mrs. Minnie Lund and her husband, Mrs. Anna Dixon and husband.

Burial services were conducted by the Reverend Father Martin, his former pastor.
