DEBBY GRISWOLD TUCKER

Mrs. Debby Griswold Tucker, 79, died at her home, 301 Columbia Street, at 2 p. m. Sunday from cancerous complications. She had been ill several weeks.

She was born in Hillsdale, Michigan, September 18**, 1840, where she lived until shortly after her marriage to Magee Halsted. They moved to Iowa 60 years ago, settling on a farm near Osage, in Mitchell County.

Her husband died in 1871 and two years later she was married to Eli C. Tucker, who preceded her in death several years ago. She removed to Waterloo in 1907.

She is survived by a brother, George Griswold, living in Vermont; four sisters, Mrs. Mary McGhan, Sherburn, Minnesota; Mrs. Miranda Dempsey, Marshalltown; Mrs. Rose Porter, Sherburn, Minnesota; four sons, Charles Halsted, Riverside, California; F. W. Halsted, 108 Harrison Street; Albert E. Halsted, Racine, Wisconsin; John W. Tucker, 40 Franklin Street; one daughter, Mrs. Hattie J. Conner, Osage; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Following out a request made by the deceased, the funeral services will be at the Seventh Day Adventist tent meeting place at Columbia and Center Streets. Elder V.W. Watts of the Seventh Day Adventist Church will preach the sermon at 8 a.m. Tuesday. The body was taken to the Hileman & Gindt Mortuary where it may be viewed by friends until tomorrow morning. The remains will be taken Tuesday to Osage for burial.
