Elizabeth “Bette” Hildegaarde (Kramer) Norgaard 1925-2009
Elizabeth”Bette” Hildegaarde Norgaard, 84, of Nevis, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Heritage Living Center in Park Rapids.
She was born May 2, 1925 in Stacyville, Iowa the daughter of Lorenz and Francis (Puettmann) Kramer.
She grew up in Meyer, Iowa. She attended grade school there through the eighth grade. She lived in Waterloo, Iowa where she was employed at several places, including Rath packing plant and as a waitress.
She married Norman Norgaard April 3, 1945 at Queen of Angels Church in Austin.
After Norman retired in 1982 they moved to Nevis, spending their winters in Arizona.
She was a former active member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Austin, and Bethany Lutheran Church of Nevis. She was a current member of the First English Lutheran Church of Dorset. She and Norman were active members of the Nevis Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her husband; four children, Alan Norgaard of Nevis, Charles (Mary) Norgaard of Lake Crystal, Peggy Ciampi of Nevis and Dawn (Ron) Anderson of Chetek, Wis.; three brothers, Elmo (Eleanor) Kramer of Ackley, Iowa, Fred (Verena) of Stacyville, Iowa and Kenneth (Lorraine) Kramer of Adams, Iowa; sister, Lori (Dick) King of Rose Creek; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Ian Norgaard, her son-in-law Ronald Heimerman and four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 10 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Nevis. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church Monday
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Monday, May 11 at the First English Lutheran Church in Dorset. Rev. Chris Davis will be the officiant. Active casketbearers: Eric Norgaard, Robin Heimerman, Peter Norgaard, Derek Small, Nick Folk and Ray Wesley.
Interment: Lakeview Cemetery in Nevis.Detroit Lakes Tribune, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Friday May 8, 2009
