Martha (Loeschpe) Gutman Frank 1859-1951

St. Ansgar – Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Gutman Frank, 91, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery south of town.

She was born September 21, 1859, the daughter of Carl and Henriette (Lasse) Loeschpe at Neu Wosofelde, Germany. She came with her parents to America in 1880 and settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

On October 3, 1880, she married to Louis Gutman. The couple came to farm near Grafton and later moved near Carpenter. Her husband died in May 1895. She moved to St. Ansgar in 1904 and married to Henry Frank in 1912. He died in 1916.

She was also preceded in death by two sons and two daughters. She had been ill since shortly before Christmas and died Sunday.

She leaves two sons; Carl Gutman, Galesburg, Illinois; George Gutman, St. Ansgar; one daughter; Mrs. Glen Housh, Mt. Pleasant; 30 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren.
