Miss Pearl Maitland Martin was born September 27, 1886 in Mitchell County, the daughter of Maitland and Eva Eastman Martin. She taught in the public schools in the surrounding area for a period of 51 years, retiring in 1956. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Goldie Duffy, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services for Miss Martin were held Sunday, January 3, 1965 in the Riceville Methodist Church with the Rev. Mr. Stanley Ballard in charge. Miss Martin passed away December 31, 1964 in the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage.
Pianist for the services was Mrs. Ernest Harrison with Mrs. Ronald Oulman as soloist. Casket bearers included Delmar Austinson, Robert Graves, Keith Harrison, Gene Henderson, James Hughes and Loyd Richmond. Rex Grover and Ronald Oulman were ushers.
Burial was in Riverside Cemetery with the Chisholm Funeral home in charge of the arrangements.
