PIONEER OF ST. ANSGAR DIES; RITES SATURDAYST. ANSGAR, IOWA – Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Methodist Church for Mrs. Mabel Sherman Carson, 66, who died at her home here Wednesday. Death was due to cerebral hemorrhage.
Mrs. Carson, a lifelong resident of St. Ansgar, suffered a stroke two and one half months ago and was cared for at Mercy Hospital, at Mason City and the Cedar Valley Hospital at Charles City. She returned to her home here a few weeks ago.
She was married to Nute Carson December 27, 1904.
Surviving are her husband, one daughter; Mrs. Lucy Fields; a son, Clair, of St. Ansgar; and a grandson. Also survived by two brothers, LaForest Sherman, St. Ansgar; Adelbert J. Sherman, Kansas City, Missouri, and one sister; Mrs. Leora Hale of Milford.
Burial will be in the East cemetery, St. Ansgar. The Rev. W. F. Belling will officiate.
