John Richardson, son of Samuel and Elsie Richardson was born near Brownville, Iowa, March 2, 1866 and passed away Feb. 7, 1951. He was one of a family of 14 children; all have preceded him in death except one brother, Charles, who resides near Brownville.

He was united in marriage to Anna Matson of Lyle, Minnesota, May 23, 1900. He had been in failing health for several years and blind for the past 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter Nellie, two sons, Raymond and Roy, a daughter-in-law; four grandchildren, one brother, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Loper funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Paul Brown, pastor of the Riceville Methodist church. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.
