RICEVILLE GROCER DIES AT 51; RITES TUESDAY

Riceville – Ray E Madsen, 51, a Riceville grocer died Friday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the First Baptist Church here with the Rev. Herschel Hawl officiating, and at 2:320 p.m. in the Christian Church in Pocahontas.
Burial will be in Pocahontas with Bradley Chisholm Funeral Home in charge.

Born June 30, 1910, at Humboldt, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steffen Madsen. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Helen; his parents, in Pocahontas; two sons, Stanley, at home; the Rev. Steve Madsen, Kansas City; a sister; Mrs. Alta Hefner, Pocahontas; two brothers, Earl, Lemar; Robert, Sioux City.
