Katherine (Kildee) Mapes 1880-1948
Osage – Funeral rites are to be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Champion Funeral Home for Mrs. Katherine Mapes, who died Wednesday at Mercy hospital, Mason City, where she had been under treatment for a heart ailment for the last five weeks. Burial in Osage Cemetery.
She was born in July 1880, to Michael and Lucy Kildee, southwest of Osage. She attended Cedar Valley Seminary and married Oliver Eugene Mapes in Osage on May 18, 1910. The couple lived here ever since. Her husband preceded her in death in 1923.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. W. P. Frakes, Cuyahoga Falls, O., and Mrs. Harold Perrin, Osage; eight grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mable Winter, Mason City, and two brothers, Al Kildee, Osage, and Dean Herbert Kildee, Ames.
