ALEX WEBER

OSAGE, IOWA — Services for Alex Weber, 79, who died Thursday night at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, were held at 10:30 a.m. yesterday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church; burial in the church cemetery.

Surviving include one daughter, Mrs. Robert Lee of Osage; five grandchildren; two great-grandchilren; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Lorbeski of Santa Anna, California and Mrs. Matie Gerhart of Austin, Minnesota and one brother, Andrew of Cedar Rapids; Champion Funeral Home in charge.

ATTACK FATAL TO
ALEX WEBER, 79

Funeral services were held Saturday morning for a well-known Osage man, Alex Weber, 79, who died at Mitchell County Memorial hospital June 10, 1971. He had been ill only a few hours, suffering two heart attacks before his death.

Rev. J. Kessler, pastor, was in charge of the funeral mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. C.R. Champion and Sons made the arrangements.

Alexander (Alex) Peter Weber was born in Stacyville, November 24, 1891, the son of Michael and Anna Scheumaker Weber. He grew to manhood in Stacyville. Mr. Weber was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church.

Agnes Marie Gilles and Alex Weber were married on September 4, 1917. He was in the employ of the Gene B. Carden clothing store for a number of years and was affiliated with the Co-op Oil company until his retirement. For the past six years he had worked at the Family Car Wash in Osage.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Robert Lee (Cleo) of Osage; five grandsons; two great-granddaughters; one brother, Andrew Weber of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Lorebeski of Santa Ana, California, and Mrs. Matie Gerhard of Austin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes in 1965; five brothers and one sister.
