Osage, Iowa - Mrs. Katherine Popp, 82, Tuesday after a long illness; born in Germany May 22, 1862; came to America with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hovels, when she was 5; settled in Jefferson county, Wisconsin; when a young woman she went to Plymouth, Iowa, to work; married there to Henry Popp July 22, 1884; came to Mitchell county soon after; husband died October 25, 1941.
She leaves seven children Orvin, Cartersville, Iowa; Mrs. John Ginder, Lyle Minn.; Mrs. Frank Meitner, Watertown, Wis.; Mrs. Robin Pellymounter, John, Mrs. Oscar Meitner; Elizabeth, Osage.
Funeral Thursday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart church; burial in Osage Catholic cemetery.

Aged Resident Of Osage Dies;
Rites to be Thursday for
Mrs. Henry Popp, 82Osage, Iowa - Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart church for Mrs. Henry Popp, 82, who died Tuesay morning at her home. The Rev. E. A. Fitzgerald will officiate with burial in Sacred Heart cemetery. The Rosary was to be said Wednesday at 8:3 p.m. at the home, 920 Mechanic street.
She was born in Germany and as a girl of 15 accompanied her parents to America, settling at Jefferson, Wisconsin. She married Henry Popp July 22, 1884 at Mitchell and they established their home on a farm in Rock township. they lived there until 1923 when they retired to their home is Osage. He died in October, 1941.
Surviving are seven children: Orven Popp, Cartersville; Mrs. Robin Pelleymounter; Mrs. Oscar Meitner; John L Popp and Elisabeth Popp, at or near Osage; Mrs. John Ginder, Lyle, Minnesota; and Mrs. Frank Meitner, Watertown, Wisconsin.
Mrs. Popp was the last member of her fathers family of eight.
