HAROLD HOFLER, NORA SPRINGS, DIES IN TEXAS

Nora Springs – Harold Hofler, 63, died suddenly Sunday at Pharr, Texas, where he and Mrs. Hofler have been vacationing since early January.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church, Osage. The Rev. Fr. G. C. Lattner of Holy Name Church, Rockford will read the Requiem Mass.

Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage. Land for this cemetery was given to the church by his grandfather, the late Anton Hofler. The Rosary will be said Friday at 8:30 p.m. at the Sheckler Funeral Home, Nora Springs.

The son of Florian and Barbara Lenhardt Hofler, he was born March 29, 1897, on the same farm three miles east of Nora Springs where he has always lived. He was married to Mildred Harr, September 12, 1917. For several years he drove a bus for the Red Ball bus line.

Surviving are his wife, two children, Mrs. F. B. (Leila) Erickson, Marquette, Michigan; Richard Hofler, Nora Springs; five grandchildren; his mother Mrs. Florian Hofler, Rockford; and a brother, Clarence, Wichita, Kansas.
