Charley E. Myrick
Charley E. Myrick was born on December 9, 1861, near LeRoy, Dodge county, Wisconsin. At the age of 17 he moved with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel B. Myrick, to Little Cedar, Iowa, where he made his home for 58 years on the same farm, purchased by his father in 1878.
Because of failing health, he decided to leave the farm and accompanied his niece, Mrs. J.S. Rosenbaum, to her home in Yakima, Washington, last April for a visit among relatives there.
On the 8th of May he was taken seriously sick from a blood clot and since that time was bedfast until the day of his death, September 8, 1936.
He was the last to survive of the Samuel Myrick family, being preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, Frank and Elber, and his sisters, Anna and Hattie Myrick and Mary Doane.
Charley will be greatly missed in this community where he was a kind neighbor, just in his business dealing, and a respected citizen.
Much of his later life was spent in tenderly administering to the care of his mother and his sisters during their failing health, giving up many of the pleasures of life in order that they might not lack for care.
He lieaves to moourn his passing, Mrs. Frank Myrick and children, of Watervliet, Michigan, and Mrs. Elber Myrick and children, of Yakima, Wash.
