Albert Johnson was born May 14, 1852, near Trondhjem, Norway, and died at St. Olaf hospital, Austin, Minnesota, April 29, 1922. He was baptized and confirmed at Holmo church.

At the age of thirty he came to America and settled in Mitchell county. On October 11, 1885, he was united in holy wedlock with Ella Larson who, with the three children born to them, survives him. The children are: Mary Johnson, Lewis Johnson and Mrs. Alfred Kittleson.

For ten years after their marriage they lived in St. Ansgar, then moved to the farm near Otranto, which was ever after their home.

Mr. Johnson enjoyed good health until the past year. An attack of the flu in the winter left him weak, but was not considered serious till the Saturday before his death, when he was taken to the hospital at Austin for an operation from which he never recovered but died in a short time.

The funeral was held Wednesday, May 3rd at the First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar, conducted by the pastor, Rev. M.E. Waldeland.

Those present at the funeral from abroad were: Mr. Ole Flatness, Lewis and Eddie Flatness, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Flatness, Mr. Martin Flatness, Miss Ida and Clarence Flatness all of Northwood; Mrs. Andrew Negord of Glenville, Minn.; Mrs. Harry Olsen, Miss Clara and Carl Olsen of Deer Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Sever Halvorson of Carpenter; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson of Austin, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Skjeveland, of Lyle, Minn.

We wish to express our thanks to the neighbors and friends who so kindly aided and sympathized with us during the illness and after the death of our beloved husband and father, also to the choir and to the many donors of beautiful floral tributes.

It was a severe shock to the people of St. Ansgar and vicinity to learn of the very sudden death of Albert Johnson, which occurred at the hospital at Austin at five o'clock last Saturday afternoon.

It appears he had not been entirely well for some time but had never complained. In March, he had the flu which left him in a weakened condition but it was only the last of the week that it seemed he was really very sick and he rapidly grew worse Saturday so they took him to Austin where they started to perform an operation but found he was in such a condition that no operation could help him, and he died at five o'clock as above stated.

The funeral will be held today, Wednesday, at the home at one o'clock and at the First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar at two o'clock.
