LIVED ON SAME FARM FOR 58 YEARS; LEAVES 2 SONS 2 DAUGHTERS

Little Cedar – Funeral services for W. B. Danforth were held at the Baptist Church Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock. The Rev. Mr. Kern of Osage officiated.

He died at his home here Monday evening, after several years of failing health, at the age of 78. He had lived on the same farm for the past 58 years and was always prominent in the affairs of the church and community.

Mr. Danforth was born at Farmington, Wisconsin, March 24, 1859, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bremer Danforth. He came to Mitchell County in the fall of 1879, purchasing the farm upon which he had made his home. Much of the first winter he spent at the George Emerson home. He returned to Farmington in February and was married February 22, 1880 to Hannah Tewinkel, returning immediately to Little Cedar, to make their home upon the farm he had purchased.

He is survived by two sons, Harry of Little Cedar, Avery of Steele, N. Dakota, and two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Hansen of Bellingham, Washington; Florence, at home, and nine grandchildren. His wife, two sons, Frank and Dana, and all of his brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
