OSAGE MAN SUCCUMBS TO BRAIN HEMORRHAGE

OSAGE, IOWA – Willis Drew, 56, died Sunday morning, at a Mason City hospital following cerebral hemorrhage.

Immediate survivors include his wife Gretchen Drew, two sons, Joseph and Metz, and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. James Drew, Minneapolis. The eldest son, James, was killed in service November 6, 1944

James Willis Drew was born September 9, 1890 in Red Wing, Goodhue Co., Minnesota, the son of James H and Minnie Drew. He married Clara Margaret Seebach, the daughter of Oscar and Clara Seebach.

NOTE: The wife mentioned in his obit had a first name Gretchen. It is unknown whether he had two wives or if it was a name Clara went by. It appears to be the same person in the 1920, 1925 and 1930 Census’s.
