RICEVILLE RITES FOR MRS. ELWELL
Riceville – Mrs. T. S. Elwell, 82, died Friday at the Cedar Valley Hospital, Charles City. Funeral services were held Monday at the Riceville Methodist Church. The Revs. Luella G. Koether and T. Janet Surdam officiated. Burial was in Wayne Cemetery near McIntire. Riceville Funeral Home was in charge.Alice Josephine Sloan was born August 15, 1879, at Waseca, Minn. Her first husband, Ralph Hall, died in 1941. She was married to Tileston S. Elwell in 1942 and had lived in Riceville since 1948.
Surviving are her husband, three sons, Hugh Hall, McIntire; Nathan Hall, Minneapolis; John Hall, St. Paul; three daughters, Mrs. Lester (Leah) Gooder and Mrs. Rex (Minnabell) Linda, both of Riceville; Mrs. John (Luella) Schack, Olympia, Wash; two brothers, Riley Sloan, Osage; Ervin Sloan, Bailey; three sisters, Mrs. P. A. Biggerstaff, Bailey; Mrs. Ella Kellogg, Tacoma, Wash; Mrs. Jennie Mathenay, Los Gatos, Calif.
