JOHNSON CITY, TENNESSEE - Virginia A. Davis, 87, 2101 Christian Ln, #306, Johnson City, died Thursday, December 21, 2006, at her residence after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Davis was a native of Panora, Iowa, and was a daughter of the late Rev. Bert Henry and Josephine O’Banion Coonradt. Mrs. Davis was a devoted mother and wife, a talented musician and soloist, and an active member of First Christian Church, Johnson City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. B.H. Coonradt and Josephine O’Banion Coonradt; one sister, Margaret Hossom; one niece, Connie Whitaker.

Survivors include her husband, Paul A. Davis, Sr., of the home; one son, Paul A. Davis, Jr., Falls Church, Virginia; three daughters, Ginny and spouse, Ed McKinney, Johnson City, Candi and spouse Dr. Jon Sipos, Ft. Myers, Florida, and Connie and spouse Barry O’Neal, Morristown; six grandchildren, Aaron, Abbie and Amy Sipos, all of Ft. Myers, Florida, Katie and Andrew O’Neal, Morristown, and William A. Davis, Falls Church, Virginia; one sister, Lucille Crouch; nieces, Lorna Crouch and Sylvia Schafer, nephews, James Crouch, Donnie Hossom, Chuck Davis, and Steve Davis and families.

The graveside funeral service for Mrs. Davis will be conducted Tuesday, December 26, 2006, at 2:00 PM in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with longtime friend Dr. Henry Webb officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 until 1:00 PM in the East Parlor of Appalachian Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Johnson Bible College Rev. & Mrs. B.H. Coonradt Scholarship Fund, 7900 Johnson Dr., Knoxville, TN 37998 or the Emmanuel School of Religion or Milligan College Building Funds.
