MRS. ALEX PAULSON DIES AT 74, SUFFERS STROKE

Osage – Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Shelledy’s funeral home for Mrs. Alex Paulson, 74. Mrs. Paulson, who died Wednesday at her home, had been in ill health for some time suffering from a stroke which she had some time ago.

Services will be in charge of the Rev. Glen Hartong. Burial will be in the Osage cemetery.

Mrs. Alex Paulson was born October 19, 1868, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Jackson, in Rock county, Wisconsin. She grew to womanhood in Mitchell County. She came to Mitchell County in 1870. In 1895 she was married to Alex Paulson. To them were born three children; Darwin J. Paulson, who died in 1935; Norine E Palmer, Minneapolis; and Eva S. Gabby, Osage. A son, Fred L. Stickney, Cedar Rapids, is a son by a former marriage.

DEATH CLAIMS
MRS. ALECK PAULSON
AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Mrs. Aleck Paulson, 74, passed away at her home at 320 Maple St., Wednesday morning after an illness that has confined her to her bed for many weeks. She suffered a stroke of paralysis that left her helpless, and death came as a relief to her.

Mrs. Paulson is well known to most Osagers. The family has lived here for more than 40 years. Deceased had been active in the Legion Auxiliary and various lodges until later years.

She is survived by her husband; her children: Fred Stickney, of Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Harry Palmer of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Dale Gabby of Osage. The Paulsons had lived with Mrs. Gabby and her husband for some time.

Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon at the Shelledy funeral home, conducted by Rev. Glenn Hartong, and burial will be in the Osage cemetery.

Anna Grace Jackson, daughter of Anna Margaret and JohnJackson, was born October 19, 1868, in Rock county, Wisconsin, and died at her home in Oasge, at 3:40 a.m., Wednesday, July 7, 1943, from a stroke of paralysis, which she suffered May 8, that had left her helpless. She was 74 years, 8 months and 17 days of age.

When she was three years of age her parents moved with their family to Floyd county and she grew to womanhood there.

In June, 1893, she was united in marriage to Eleck Paulson. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn their loss three children: Mrs. Harry Palmer, Minneapolis; Mrs. Dale Gabby, Osage, and Fred L. Stickney of Cedar Rapids. Mr. Stickney is a son by a former marriage.

A son, Darwin J. Paulson, preceded her in death in 1933 [or 1935??]. Surviving also is a brother, John Jackson of Ortonville, Minnesota; a sister, Mrs. Leta Neipling, of Palmyra, New York; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchidlren. Five brothers preceded her in death.

Mrs. Paulson was well known throughout the community. For many years she took an active part in the social life of the town, belonging to the Rebeckah lodge at the time of her death, and in the past has been a member of the Royal Neighbor lodge, and of the Legion Auxiliary.

Funeral service was held Friday afternoon, July 9, from the Shelledy funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Glenn Hartong and interment was in Osage cemetery.

Those from out of town who came to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stickney, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Viola Jackson, Waterloo; Mrs. Ray Hall; Leonard Hall and Mr. and Mrs. Chet Hildreth, all of Austin, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. J.K. Gabby, McIntire and Mrs. May Mott of Dexter, Minnesota.
