ADA FOSTER DIES AT 99 IN RICEVILLE
Riceville – Mrs. Ada Foster, 99, Riceville’s eldest resident died Tuesday at Mitchell Memorial Hospital in Osage. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Chisholm Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Born October 21, 1864, in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of George and Lavina Tyrrell. She was the senior centennial queen at Riceville in 1955.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Vernice Lively; Mrs. Cecil (Nina) Bensend; Mrs Alvin (Laura) Minnis, all of Riceville; nine grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant, in 1956; a son, daughter, two grandchildren, a great-grandchild and five sisters.Mason City Globe Gazette, Wednesday July 8, 1964
