DIES OF HEART DISEASE

St. Ansgar, Iowa - Hans K. Hansen, 66, died suddenly Thursday evening of a heart attack.

Born in Bergen, Norway, and came to America at the age of three years, and has been a resident of St. Ansgar ever since.

Surviving are his wife Blanche, three daughters, Mrs. Fred Reisner, Silver Springs, Maryland, Miss Loaine Hansen, Allegan, Michigan, Mrs. Ernest J. Hansen, State College, Pennsylvania; and one son, Aviation Cadet Homer Hansen, Aloe Airfield, Victoria, Texas.

Local business places were closed Monday afternoon between the hours of 2 o'clock and 3 o'clock out of respect for a former business associate, H.K. Hansen, whose funeral services were conducted at the First Lutheran church that afternoon.

Death came suddenly to Mr. Hansen on Thursday, October 7, 1943, while he was attending a picture show at the Roxy theatre here.

Hans Knutson Hansen, son of Lars and Karen Hansen, was born in Bergen, Norway, May 7, 1877, and was baptized in the Lutheran church in Bergen the same year.

His father, Lars Hansen, passed away when Hans was three years old. The following year Mrs. Hansen, with her two small children, immigrated to America, coming to the home of her brother, O. K. Berg, at St. Ansgar, Iowa. On June 14, 1891 he was confirmed at the Rock Creek Lutheran church by the Rev. J. Olsen.

Hans attended the St. Ansgar public schools and took a business course at the St. Ansgar Seminary.

On June 10, 1908, he was united in marriage to Blanche Hansen, and to this union four children were born.

Mr. Hansen was in various places of business at St. Ansgar, where his friends throughout Mitchell county found him to be an honest, Christian man. The past ten years he has been salesman for the Des Moines Register and later the Mason City Globe Gazette.

Mr. Hansen's sudden death on October 7, was a shock to his many friends throughout Mitchell county. He attained the age of 66 years and five months. He leaves to mourn his departure, his wife, three daughters and one son, namely: Gydia, now Mrs. F.W. Reisner, Silver Springs, Maryland; Loaine Hansen, Allegan, Michigan; Aviation Cadet Homer Hansen of Victoria, Texas; and Beulah, now Mrs. E.J. Hansen of State College, Penn; also two grandchildren, William Frederick and Barbara Lou Reisner.

Services were conducted at the home at 1:45 and at the First Lutheran churh at 2:00 o'clock. The Rev. O.A. Langehough was in charge of the services. Interment was in the First Lutheran cemetery.

Pallbearers were: George Cummings, Osage; Dr. Louis Savre, Osage; H.E. Falk, Oscar Havig, C. Edw. Miller, and H.B. Hansen.

DIES AT ROXY THEATER

H.K. Hansen, of St. Ansgar, a well-known man of the county, died suddenly last Thursday evening while attending the theater with his wife. Mr. Hansen the past few years had been engaged in soliciting subscriptions for both the Press-News and mason City paper and had a wide acquaintence over the county.

Funeral services were held at the home Monday and at First Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. O.A. Langehough in charge. Interment was in the Lutheran cemetery.
