WILMER (BILL) DIETERICH

ST. ANSGAR - Wilmer (Bill) Dieterich, 91, died on Thursday evening, October 14, 1999, at Mitchell County Regional Health Care Center, Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 18, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Edward Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

Friends may call on today from 2 to 5 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, and one hour before the service at the church Monday.

Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar First Responders or the charity of their choice.

Bill was born June 8, 1908, in Floyd County, Iowa, the son of Carl and Bertha (Kronemann) Dieterich. He was baptized as an infant and after moving to rural St. Ansgar as a boy was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He graduated from St. Ansgar High School in the class of 1927.

Bill was united in marriage to Agnes Struck on December 11, 1935, in Myrtle, Minn. He farmed in the St. Ansgar area for a number of years and later served as secretary/manager and agent for the St. Ansgar Mutual Insurance Association. He retired in 1981.

In the 1950's he served as a councilman and mayor of St. Ansgar. He was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by his survivors including his children and their spouses, Gerald and Eunice Dieterich of West Salem, Wisconsin, Judith and David Everds of Lakeville, Minnesota, Jean and George Currier of Red Wing, Minnesota, Keith and Susan Dieterich of St. Ansgar. Other survivors include one brother, Lawrence of St. Ansgar; one sister, Lola Kittleson of St. Ansgar; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes; his parents; and two brothers, Ervin and Arnold.
