Man Dies
In MishapOSAGE, IOWA - A rural Osage man, John Klemesrud, 37, was killed instantly Wednesday morning when his tractor overturned and crushed him.
The tractor was pulling two wagonloads of silage at the time of the accident which occured at a site 7 1/2 miles west and three miles south of Osage near the Bill Greiner farm. The site was about a quarter mile from Mr. Klemesrud's own farm.
According to Sheriff Richard E. Jahnel the rig went off the gravel road, pinning Mr. Klemesrud under the tractor. The sheriff said the victim was a diabetic and may have gone into a diabetic coma prior to the accident.
Services for Mr. Klemesrud will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rock Creek Lutheran Church in rural Osage. Burial will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery with Champion Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his widow, Donna; four daughters: Brenda, Babette, Becky and Bonnie, at home; three sons: Tracy, Terry and Timothy, at home; his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Kalmar Klemesrud of Osage; and his grandmother, Mrs. Agnes Klemesrud of Osage.

NOTE: His wife was the former Donna Belle Griggs. Another source said John's middle name was Philip.
