MRS. AUGUSTA ZILK WAS PIONEER CITIZEN OF ITCHELL COUNTY

Riceville, Iowa – Funeral services were held for Mrs. Augusta Zilk, 84, at the Congregational church Tuesday afternoon. She was a resident in this vicinity for many years, her marriage to William Zilk uniting two pioneer families of Mitchell County.

They were the parents of seven children; two of these and her husband preceding her in death.

She has made her home of late years with her daughter, Mrs. Alfred Harris at Waterloo, where her death occurred.

According to the 1925 Iowa Census, her maiden name was Neumuth. The 1900 Census shows her birth at October 1853 in Germany.
